A Return Label is generated when a customer needs to ship a product back to the company for warranty claim processing, repair, or replacement.

This process allows either:

  • The company to create the return shipment label directly, or

  • The customer to generate the label via a secure link shared through email.

Generating a return label ensures:

  • Proper tracking of the shipment

  • Discounted shipping rates

  • Smooth claim processing



Step-by-Step Guide to Generate a Return Label


1. Search and Open the Warranty Claim

  1. Login to the Dyrect Client Portal.

  2. Navigate to Service & Claims from the left panel.

  3. Open the required claim (example: #WMLQDT364).

  4. Go to the Shipment section.

  5. Click on Generate Label (top-right corner).

  6. Select Return Label from the dropdown.



2. Choose Return Label Type

A popup will appear with two options:

Option 1: Create Return Label

Select this if the company wants to generate the label directly.

Option 2: Request Customer via Link/Email

Select this if you want the customer to generate the label themselves.

Click Next.



OPTION A: Create Return Label (Company Creates It)


3. Confirm Shipping Details

Verify:

  • Shipping From → Customer address

  • Shipping To → Company warehouse address

  • Product details (SKU auto-fetches)

Click:

  • Create Shipment in Dyrect
    OR

  • Upload Shipment (if using external tracking)



4. Add Package Details

Enter:

  • Length

  • Width

  • Height

  • Weight

Select the preferred shipping service (e.g., UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select).

Click Create Shipment.



6. Share Label

After successful generation:

  • The shipping label can be downloaded.

  • Share it with the customer.

  • The customer must print and attach it to the package.




OPTION B: Request Customer via Link/Email


  1. Select Request Customer via Link/Email.

  2. A secure return label link will be generated.

  3. You can:

    • Copy the link

    • Send it directly to the customer via email



4. Customer Flow

When the customer opens the link:

  1. They click Generate Shipping Label.


  2. Enter package dimensions and weight.


  3. Select shipping service.

  4. Complete payment 


  5. Download and print the label.

Important Notes

  • Shipping rates vary based on package dimensions and weight.

  • International shipments may include additional processing fees.

  • The return label is valid only for the generated shipment.

  • Tracking ID is auto-created after shipment generation.

A tracking ID is created and visible under the Shipment section of the claim.

6. Is the return label automatically emailed?

Only if you select the email option or manually share the label.
