Domain Whitelisting & CNAME Setup (Short Guide)

Notes
Below is a simple, clean guide that only explains the required CNAME changes and provides one reference video.

CNAME Changes Required

To whitelist your domain, please add the following two CNAME records in your DNS settings:
  1. warranty.yourwebsite.comsubdomain.dyrect.co
  2. api.yourwebsite.comapi21.dyrect.co
These CNAME records ensure your custom subdomains correctly point to the Dyrect platform.

White Label Setup (Short Overview)

White labeling allows you to use your own domain (e.g., warranty.yourwebsite.com) while the platform runs in the background.

What You Need to Do:
  • Add the two CNAME records mentioned above.
What Dyrect Will Do:
  • Generate and upload the SSL certificate for your subdomain.
  • Complete the white label configuration on the server.
once completed, your users will see your branded domain while the system works seamlessly behind the scenes.

FAQ

1. What is domain whitelisting?

Domain whitelisting means allowing your custom domain (e.g., warranty.yourwebsite.com) to work with the Dyrect platform by pointing it to Dyrect’s servers through CNAME records.

2. Why do I need to add CNAME records?

CNAME records connect your custom domain to Dyrect’s server. Without them, your domain cannot display or run the Dyrect portal properly.

3. Which CNAME records do I need to add?

You must add the following two CNAME entries in your DNS:

  • warranty.yourwebsite.com → subdomain.dyrect.co

  • api.yourwebsite.com → api21.dyrect.co

4. Who provides the SSL certificate?

Dyrect will generate and install the SSL certificate for your custom subdomain after the CNAME records are added.

5. How long does the setup take?

Once CNAME records are added correctly, Dyrect generally completes SSL installation and configuration within a short time.

6. Do I need technical knowledge to set this up?

Basic DNS editing is required. If you're unsure, your hosting provider or IT team can add the CNAME records for you.

7. Will my users see Dyrect's domain anywhere?

No. After white labeling is completed, your users will only see your custom domain (e.g., warranty.yourwebsite.com).

8. What if my hosting provider does not allow CNAME on root domain?

Use a subdomain (e.g., warranty.yourwebsite.com). Root domains typically do not support CNAME.

9. What happens if the CNAME is added incorrectly?

Your custom domain will not load the portal. You may see errors like "Site can’t be reached" or "Domain not found."

10. How can I verify if my CNAME setup is correct?

You can use online DNS check tools such as:

  • dnschecker.org

  • whatsmydns.net
Once propagation is complete, Dyrect can proceed with SSL installation.
