How to Create a New Form

Notes

Overview

Forms are the foundation of data collection in Dyrect. Whether you're creating a Warranty Registration, Support, Service, or Custom form, the Form Builder enables you to design a tailored experience for your customers and internal users.

This article explains how to create a new form and configure its basic information before customizing it in the Form Builder.

Info

Before You Begin

Before creating a form, make sure:

  • You have access to the Forms module.
  • The required brands and products have already been created in Dyrect.
  • You know which module the form will be used for.

Create a New Form

Step 1: Open the Forms Module

  1. From the Dyrect dashboard, navigate to: Configurations → Forms
  2. The Forms page displays all existing forms and allows you to create new ones.

Step 2: Start Creating a Form

  1. Click Create New Form in the upper-right corner.
  2. The Add Form dialog will open.

Step 3: Configure the Form

  1. The Add Form window contains the basic information required to create a form.

Complete the following fields:

1. Form Name

Enter a unique and descriptive name for the form.

For example:

  • Product Registration
  • Warranty Registration
  • Service Request
  • Dealer Registration

This name will help administrators easily identify the form later.

2. User Type

Choose who the form is intended for.

User Type Description
Consumer Customers registering products, submitting claims, or requesting support.
Dealer Dealers or distributors managing registrations and service requests.
Company Internal users within your organization.

3. Module

Select the module where the form will be used.

Available modules include:

  • Registration
  • Support
  • Service
  • Return Shipping
  • Custom

The selected module determines where the form will be available within Dyrect.

4. Form Type

Choose the type of form you want to create.

The available options vary depending on the selected module.

5. Brand

Select the brand that this form will be associated with.

If your account manages multiple brands, choosing the correct brand ensures that the form is available only where it is required.

6. Products

Select the products that should use this form.

Note: You can assign the same form to multiple products belonging to the same brand.

7. Description (Optional)

Add a short description explaining the purpose of the form.

Example:

Step 4: Create the Form

  1. After completing all the required fields, click Create Form.
  2. Dyrect creates the form and automatically opens it in the Form Builder, where you can start designing the layout, adding pages, and configuring form elements.

What's Next?

After creating the form, you can:

  • Configure the Welcome Page.
  • Add multiple form steps.
  • Insert form elements.
  • Configure field settings.
  • Apply a theme.
  • Preview the form.
  • Publish the form.
