Extended Warranty enables customers to purchase additional warranty coverage beyond the standard warranty period of a product. Using the Dyrect Back Office, brands can create customized extended warranty plans and display them on the warranty registration Thank You page through the Extended Warranty Widget. This provides customers with an easy way to purchase additional protection while helping brands improve post-sales engagement and increase revenue opportunities.


Step 1: Configure Shopify Permissions

Before creating an Extended Warranty plan, ensure the required Shopify permissions are enabled.

  1. Log in to the Dyrect Back Office.
  2. Go to Settings → Integration → Shopify.


  3. Open the Configuration tab.
  4. Enable the following permissions:
  • Read Products
  • Read Orders
  • Read Customers
  • Write Products
  • Read Draft Orders
  • Write Draft Orders
  • Write Orders


  1. Click Grant Permission.

You will be redirected to your Shopify store to approve the requested permissions.


Step 2: Create an Extended Warranty Plan

Access Warranty Plans

  1. Log in to the Dyrect Portal.
  2. Navigate to Contracts → Warranty Plan.
  3. Click Add Plan.

The Create Plan screen will open, allowing you to configure your warranty offering.



Plan Details

Complete the following mandatory fields:

Basic Information

  • Plan Name – Name of the warranty plan.
  • Category – Select Extended Warranty.
  • Plan Image – Upload an image representing the warranty plan.
  • Allow Auto Registration – Enable this option if the warranty should be registered automatically when purchased.



Configure Term Duration and Pricing

You can create multiple warranty variants with different durations and pricing structures.

Available Fields

Field Description
Variant Title Name displayed to customers for the warranty option
Term Duration Coverage duration in Months or Years
Price Type Pricing method for the warranty
Amount Warranty price
Default Sets the default option displayed to customers

Supported Pricing Types

  • Free – No additional charge.
  • Flat Rate – Fixed amount charged.
  • Percentage – Price calculated as a percentage of the product value.

Additional variants can be added as required.


Applicable Products

Define which products are eligible for the extended warranty plan.

Include Products By

You can configure eligibility using:

  • Brands
  • Products

Select the applicable brands and products from the dropdown lists.



Terms of Coverage

Specify the terms and conditions associated with the warranty plan.

Content Format

Select the format used to display Terms & Conditions.

Supported formats may include:

  • Text Content
  • External URL (if enabled for your account)

Terms & Conditions

Provide the warranty coverage details, exclusions, limitations, and customer obligations that apply to the plan.


Coverage Options

Enable the coverage types applicable to your warranty plan.

Available options include:

  • Manufacturing Defects
  • Electrical or Mechanical Failure 
  • Accidental Damage 
  • Wear and Tear 
  • Theft or Loss 
  • Liquid Damage 

Enable only the coverage options included in your warranty offering.


Claim Settings

Warranty Purchase Window

Configure the time period during which customers are allowed to purchase the extended warranty after the original product purchase.

Example:

  • 1 Month
  • 3 Months
  • 6 Months

After completing all configurations, click Update Plan to save the warranty plan.



Step 3: Add the Extended Warranty Widget

Once the warranty plan is created, add the Extended Warranty Widget to the warranty registration flow.

  1. Go to Configuration → Form.
  2. Open the Warranty Registration Form.
  3. Navigate to the Thank You Page section.


Add the Widget

  1. From the left-side Elements panel, click Add Elements.
  2. Select Extended Warranty Widget.
  3. Drag and drop the widget onto the Thank You Page.

The widget will automatically display all eligible Extended Warranty plans to customers after they complete warranty registration.





Save Configuration

Click Save to publish the form changes.

The Extended Warranty Widget will now be visible on the customer-facing Thank You page.


Customer Experience

After successfully registering a product warranty:

  1. The customer is redirected to the Thank You page.
  2. Available Extended Warranty plans are displayed through the widget.
  3. The customer selects their preferred coverage option.
  4. The warranty purchase is completed.
  5. The extended warranty is associated with the registered product.
